The next time I introduced a new idea, I made sure to lay the groundwork for it before throwing it out there in a meeting.

I talked with other attendees ahead of time who might also be interested in my proposal to fix a common project approval process, and I socialized it a few days before with my manager.

Once she saw the reaction in the room after I spoke, the idea took flight.

Not everyone is ready to hear your ideas. Sometimes you have to help them along the way to prepare them to receive it.
