I’ve been making something out of nothing for as long as I can remember.
Growing up, I didn’t really have a choice:
Locked out of the house, countless hours spent playing outside, nothing to entertain me but my imagination. Roving gangs of kids raced by on bikes, we built forts in the dense woods, quenched our thirst from the spirals of water hoses, and made up new games from the ether. And then a simple call to come home marking the end of daily adventures.
Looking back, the only thing I could ever do was create or build. If you weren’t creating, you were doing nothing— stuck on the porch until someone dropped by, or until a sudden spark of inspiration struck.
When faced with uncertainty and lacking a clear plan, sometimes the best move is to start taking action on something, anything, and see where it leads you.
It might work, or it might not, but at least you’re moving somewhere.
