A positive outlook can help shape how you see a situation.
Yesterday I listened to a musician describe what it was like to play with Miles Davis. This particular musician, during a live set, played a note that was clearly off-key. Miles paused for a moment and reacted with notes from his instrument that played off of the other musician’s mistake. In the end, the mistake sounded like it was just part of what they were supposed to be playing.
When a mistake is viewed as something that just happens and not negatively, you leave the potential for this random action to be turned into something of value.
The only way to grow is to take any situation we’ve been given and make something constructive with it.
