Measuring the impact of design can be a difficult task.  However, while a concept is still in development, consider the following:

Can the product be produced quickly and efficiently?

Is it a simple and elegant solution?

Does it scale?

Addressing these three factors–speed, simplicity, and scale–while you are still in design will serve to help you create a more effective, relevant product for your customers.
